The trimaran of her dreams
Thursday 28 March 2002, par Jean Perez
When you have the chance to live with a man who took part in the construction of an "Open 60 foot" as prestigious as Paul Vatine's "Haute Normandie" and Francis Joyon's "Banque Populaire", whose association lasted five years, you don't need to seek elsewhere what you have at hand.
Furthermore, when you are in touch with an architect from Mutiplast, you can build a boat without using the "classic scheme".
After investing her own money to buy the two "Groupama" floats, Anne Caseneuve asked Christophe Houdet and Jacques Mitchell - the latter personally ? to build and assemble a " 50 foot" for her.
Since the start of the construction, Anne Caseneuve 's project changed with the support of a sport events agency called " l'Esprit d'Equipe" and with our Major Sponsor?s reliability : Yachting-casino.com.
Yachting-casino knew how to support an ambitious and exciting project. That was the meticulous work because it was unique. This work lasted for a long time and needed a lot of patience : Anne had this project in mind since three years. Nowadays this carbon and kevlar trimaran is well done and is called ? ? Yachting-casino.com ?. It is very light, very nervous : Now Anne can hope to fight the biggest ones without fears.
This trimaran has nothing to do with the old langevin plan on which Anne ran the 1998's " Route du Rhum" race.
"Now, I ' ve got a real boat ", she says, " the one I dreamt about".
Nowadays, the 19 metres alu mast will be used to reach the record of the North Atlantic race. On the contrary, a 24 metres mast will be used for the next "Route du Rhum" and the other adventures Anne will have.
